Hallé Archive Talk - Hallé Choir

Guest speaker Dr Chris Green delves into the history of the Hallé Choir’s commercial recordings from the past 100 years.
About this Event

Proud to have been a member of the Hallé Choir since 2009, guest speaker Dr Chris Green has been researching, documenting and preserving the Choir’s history for many years. From his unique perspective as both singer and historian, he examines different aspects of the choir’s development, repertoire, guest artists, broadcasts and recordings. In this talk, he will delve into the history of the Choir’s commercial recordings from the past 100 years.

At each event in our Hallé Archive Talk series, speakers will show items from the archive, sharing stories about the people who helped shape the Hallé over the decades and exploring the impact the Hallé has had on Manchester's music scene.

The talk is scheduled after the chamber music performance in Hallé St Peters. If attending the chamber music concert, please head upstairs to the Victoria Wood Hall afterwards to continue your visit to the Hallé.

Please book for each talk separately in our 2026/2027 series of talks. Although this event is free, booking in advance is encouraged to guarantee entry.
