About this Event

Halloween Silk Painting Workshop: Spooky Window Art

Join us at Liberation Art Gallery for a relaxing and creative Halloween silk painting workshop, where you’ll design and paint your own spooky artwork on silk, stretched within an embroidery hoop and ready to hang in your window.

Inspired by the magic of Halloween, explore mysterious moons, curious creatures, autumnal shapes, bats, pumpkins, ghosts or your own imaginative designs. As you paint, discover how silk dyes flow and blend through the fabric, creating beautiful, translucent layers of colour that glow when the light shines through.

This two-hour introduction to silk painting offers an opportunity to experiment with new materials, express your creativity and enjoy the process without pressure. Whether you prefer something playfully spooky or dark and atmospheric, you’ll be encouraged to follow your imagination and create a piece that feels uniquely yours.

Slow Painting

Slow Painting is an intentional, unhurried way of making art. Participants are invited to pause, observe, layer colour and respond to the materials gradually, allowing the artwork to evolve naturally rather than rushing towards a finished product.

Taking time to make art can support mindfulness, presence and a sense of calm. This workshop is about enjoying the creative process, exploring colour and discovering what happens when you give yourself the freedom to experiment.

Suitable for beginners and those with some creative experience, the focus is on exploration and enjoyment rather than technical perfection.
