Halloween Poetry Slam (A Bigfoot Festival Event)

Do you like poetry that rattles bones? Enjoy feeling the spirits present in each stanza? Maybe you just want to see a poet dressed as Waluigi reading a poem from the POV of Waluigi??

We are excited to announce our Halloween Poetry Open Mic + Slam!

This event is a space for poets to bring their most haunted work! Any poems that have themes of horror or touch on topics surrounding Halloween are welcome. Or come decked out in a costume and share a poem from the POV of who you're dressed as(no costume penalties in the slam)! All poems read at this show must be on theme.

This event is taking place at 7:00pm with doors at 6:30pm on Thursday, October 30th, at Core PDX (3612 SE 82nd Ave). This is an all ages event!

This is a free event, but as this is a fundraiser for the 2026 Bigfoot Poetry Festival, we will be taking donations, hosting a raffle, and selling some festival merch.

Poets in the open mic can read 1-2 poems in four minutes. Poets in the slam must bring 2 poems that are three minutes or less. Sign up in advance here -

You do NOT have to sign up to attend this event. Folks who want to come and watch are encouraged to do so. We hope to see you there - it will be to die for!!
