Celebrate Halloween by exploring Newcastle’s Fort Scratchley, where a captivating exhibition of the iconic underground tunnels brings the festivities to life. This event is designed for kids of all ages as well as the young at heart.
Experience our landmark site at no cost, while entry to the eerie tunnels is ticketed only. Tickets will give you entry for a 2-hour block (except the last session - 1 hour only, so be early). The first session starts at 3:00pm, then each following session starts on the hour until 7:00pm. Yes, you may enter more than once in your session-time using the same ticket. Down there, you’ll discover lots to see spread over various levels! The number of people in the tunnels at any one time will be limited at each session to maximise your experience. Tunnels will be closed at 8:00pm and the site will close soon after.
Please note: Due to the stairs, the tunnels need a certain degree of mobility and are unsuitable for walkers or wheelchairs. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult, please.
In addition to our tunnels being decorated for the event, weather permitting, the Parade Ground will feature unique vehicles from Motley Crew Car Club, a Rotary BBQ, and the Daisy Belle Coffee van, plus drinks, ice creams, and snacks available from the Fort Scratchley Shop.
All members of our Fort Scratchley Historical Society team possess valid Working with Children clearances, guaranteeing a safe and family-friendly setting. Attendees should note that this event is strictly alcohol-free.
Come with the whole family, Nanna, Pop, and all the aunties and uncles included. Wearing costumes is highly encouraged. We can’t wait to see all the ghosts, ghouls, princesses, and superheroes as they arrive and join in the fun. Kindly keep all costumes suitable for a family audience.
If you came last year, you’ll notice everything is bigger, spookier, and more impressive, as we guaranteed.
