Welcome to Hyper Strength & Conditioning, San Jose Japantown. On Saturday, August 8th we're throwing open the doors for the most fun you can have in a HYROX-style race, a 4km Halfrox Sprint followed by a taco spread that makes the suffering worth it.

This one's for everybody. Never touched a sled in your life? Perfect, this is your in. Been eyeing HYROX from the sidelines? Today's the day you stop watching. Already fit and want a vicious 35-minute sprint? We've got a lane for you too. No benchmarks to chase, no pressure, just official-standard stations, head-to-head racing, the best community in the Bay, and tacos waiting at the finish.

🔥 What you're walking into:

  • Head-to-Head Racing, Zero Bottlenecks: Strict 2-lane waterfall starts mean you race side-by-side and never wait in line for a machine. Our floor is stocked — 4 Rowers, 4 SkiErgs, 2 Official HYROX Sleds, 2 Torque Tanks.
  • The Japantown Loop: Our outdoor run course hits the pavement right outside the door.
  • The "Stairway to Hell": One flight of stairs bridging the gym floor to the run. It'll test your legs, your lungs, and your transitions. (Speed-walk zone — safety first.)
  • Tacos. Real ones. Stick around, refuel, and hang with the crew. The race is the workout; the tacos are the reward.

🏃 The Format — Halfrox Sprint:
4km Run + 8 Stations (Ski, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Row, Farmers Carry, Lunges, Wall Balls) — half the reps and weights of a full HYROX. Fully scalable for every level.

🎟️ Divisions:

  • OPEN: Standard Halfrox weights.
  • SCALED: Modified weights, dialed in on our Torque Tanks for smooth, adjustable resistance. New here? Start here.

⏱️ How we run it:
Head-to-Head "Waterfall Starts" — we launch 2 athletes at a time so the floor flows and nobody stands around. Select your preferred time block at checkout, and we'll email your exact heat launch time the Wednesday before.
