About this Event
In Newport Museum and Gallery, one of the more unusual exhibits is one of the large baskets used by workers, many years ago, to install, paint and maintain Newport Transporter Bridge’s suspension cables and to scale our 74 metre towers!
A familiar face from 'The Repair Shop', willow weaver Sarah Hatton has been tasked with replicating the Bridge’s iconic and more unusual features to eventually be put in place in our East Anchorage Garden. Join her and the Newport Transporter Bridge Project team in historic Market Arcade, for an hour-long session of family willow weaving, making your very own small basket and discovering more about the Bridge's amazing 'Giant Baskets' this May Half-Term!
