What if the behaviors you dislike most about yourself aren't character flaws at all?
What if they are just survival strategies you learned years ago and forgot how to turn off?
Modern life gives us endless information but zero initiation. We are expected to heal from setbacks, stress, trauma, and burnout by staring at screens, listening to podcasts, or reading self-help books.
But true transformation doesn't happen in your head—it happens in your body, in nature, and in community. You don't have a willpower problem. You have a survival program running in your nervous system, and you cannot crush an outdated operating system with sheer discipline. Until you change the physical state of your body, the old patterns remain.
On Aug 8th, we are stepping away from the noise. The InVerse Method Outdoor Workshop is a 5-hour physical rite of passage designed to initiate you into the person you were before the world told you who to be.
This is not a random collection of wellness activities. It is a meticulously sequenced, psychophysiological intervention designed to trigger root-cause healing from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the stillness of the Texas morning.
How the Journey Breaks Down:
- The 2-Mile Silent Nature Walk: We begin at dawn. Walking forward in nature triggers what neuroscientists call lateral visual flow (your eyes naturally scanning side-to-side). This physical eye movement directly dampens the amygdala—the brain's threat-detection center—shifting your brainwaves from high-alert stress into a calm, creative alpha state.
- Preparatory Asanas (Physical Postures): Stress and trauma are physically stored as tension in the muscles and fascia (connective tissue). These targeted physical movements act as a mechanical key, releasing trapped obstructions, opening tight energy centers, and drastically increasing your lung capacity.
- Somatic Breathwork & Qi Gong: Your breath is the remote control for your nervous system. Through ancient Qi Gong energy alignment and targeted breathwork, we stimulate the vagus nerve and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This physically decarbonates the blood and recharges your brain and spinal centers with oxygen, transforming your Chi (life force) from stagnation to effortless flow.
- The Meditation Peak (Where the Magic is Unleashed): All of our physical movement and breathwork build to this one defining peak: learning how to truly meditate. Because your body has been physically cleared of stress hormones and your blood is highly oxygenated, your brain effortlessly drops into alpha and theta wave states—the gateway to the subconscious. In this profound state of stillness, you don't fight your mind; instead, you unlock rapid, intense transformation and deep cellular healing in ways you never thought possible.
- Fellowship, Lakeside Dip, & Drum Circle: We close the morning by integrating your breakthrough into community. Bring an instrument if you play one, or simply bring your hands to clap. We will break out a drum circle to celebrate the energy we cultivated, connect with like-minded souls, and go for a refreshing dip in the lake.
Social Proof
This framework wasn't built in a textbook. It was built by Steven Garner, a U.S. Marine Veteran and former professional athlete who used these exact psychophysiological protocols to overcome severe military and childhood trauma after traditional rehab, AA meetings, and standard therapy failed to deliver lasting results.
What to Bring & Logistics
- Time: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM (We start early to beat the Texas heat and capture nature at its quietest).
- Hydration: Bring water. We will provide one 32-ounce bottle of coconut water for each participant (chilled in a cooler).
- Nourishment: Snacks aren't recommended as the effects of the exercises are enhanced on an empty stomach. That said, you know your body best.
- Attire: Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor movement and walking. We'll be on a covered nature trail rather than pavement. Gym shoes are great, but hiking boots are better. Please bring a yoga mat and an outdoor cushion or meditation pillow if needed for comfort during our seated practices. Bring a swimsuit/towel if you want to jump in the lake!
- Breaks: In between each exercise, Steven will share a brief insight explaining the science and strategy behind what is to come. Dedicated time for restroom breaks will be allotted. Restrooms are within walking distance, but please remember to drink water mindfully and consciously throughout the morning.
- Optional: A musical instrument for the closing drum circle (drums, shakers, flutes, guitars or just your voice).
Frequently Made Comments
- "6:00 AM is too early. / 5 hours is too long." We start at 6:00 AM precisely because nature is quiet then, and we finish at 11:00 AM right as the Texas sun starts to bake the earth. This duration is intentional—it takes time for the nervous system to fully drop its armor and step into a true state of initiation. A quick 1-hour class won't give you a root-cause breakthrough.
- "I’m not in elite shape. / I don't know if I can do a 2-mile walk." This is not a military boot camp or an intense hike. The 2-mile walk is completely silent, slow, and meditative. It is designed to help you connect with your body and your breath, not test your cardio. If you can walk at a gentle pace, you are ready for this.
- "I can't meditate. / My mind races too much." You've just been taught to do it backwards. Trying to meditate cold when your body is full of stress hormones is nearly impossible. Because we spend the first few hours physically preparing your nervous system, clearing your fascia, and oxygenating your blood, your brain waves will naturally slow down. You won't have to force your mind to be quiet—it will happen completely on its own.
- "I don't play an instrument for the drum circle." You do not need to be a musician! The drum circle is about raw energy, rhythm, and fellowship. Bring your hands to clap, or just bring yourself to soak in the sound. The lake dip and the music are entirely about celebrating the breakthroughs you just achieved.
Stop running on an outdated operating system. The cost of staying stuck in the same survival patterns is far greater than the investment to break free.
To ensure deep, personal, individual guidance from Steven, this outdoor rite of passage is strictly limited to 15 participants. Once the slots are gone, registration closes.
