About this Event
Some events are built around a stage.
This one is built around a front porch.
Five years ago, Hairston Hoedown started as a simple idea: bring good people together, listen to great music, share a meal, tell stories, and use the gathering to make a difference in Appalachian communities.
Since then, it has become one of our favorite traditions.
Every year, artists, business owners, community leaders, supporters, and friends from across Kentucky and beyond come together for a night that feels more like a family reunion than a concert.
This year may be our biggest yet.
Alongside an outstanding lineup of local and regional artists, we’re proud to welcome Grammy Award winner Gary Nichols and Texas songwriter Kensie Coppin to the Hoedown stage.
Their addition brings national talent to an event that has never forgotten its roots.
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t about headliners.
It’s about community.

A NOTE FROM OUR TEAM
The Appalachian Pioneer Program exists because people continue showing up.
Artists donate their time.
Businesses donate resources.
Volunteers donate their energy.
Supporters donate what they can.
Together, those contributions become disaster relief, meals, recovery support, cultural programming, educational opportunities, and countless moments of hope throughout Appalachia.
We are grateful for every person who has been part of this journey.
We hope you’ll join us on July 11.
We’ll save you a seat on the porch.
