About this Event

In partnership with Wednesday Open Words, Orlando Poetry Slam Presents--The Haiku Battle Royale!

Watch poets compete on stage in head-to-head death matches for the title of Orlando Haiku Champion! Winner receives a $100 cash prize.

Free to attend or compete.

Rules

-Signup starts at 8:30pm, show starts at 9pm.
-All poems must be original content.
-No props or musical accompaniment is allowed
-poems must be haiku, 17 syllables. Titles are not to be included.
-Poets have 30 seconds to perform their work.
-Poets will perform haiku head to head. 3-5 judges selected from the audience will award points after each poet pair performs.
-1st Round is a best of 3
-2nd Round is a best of 5
-3rd Round is a best of 7
-You will need 15 haiku minimum to compete.
-Order to be determined by random draw 1st round, then rock paper scissors.
-Any violations of rules will forfeit a point.All rules subject to change based on availability of judges and poet participation.
