About this Event

PLEASE NOTE WE NOW HAVE 2 STUDIOS AT HACKNEY CITY FARM. YOUR TICKET IS VALID FOR MAIN BUILDING STUDIO. ENTRANCE THROUGH THE FARM'S CAFE, DOOR AT THE LEFT OF POTTERY. PLEASE SEE MAP BELOW.

Our mission is to teach young people how to make fantastic art from learning the essential artistic skills of drawing and painting from observation regardless of their experience or abilities. Anyone can learn them from any age, regardless of their natural ability, as creating great pictures requires learning and developing techniques rather than being born with a talent. We harness their skill development, encourage and support each student on their own artistic journeys to fulfil their unique artistic potential. The results will leave you and your child amazed!

• All materials provided for students aged 7- 16 years only.

• We do not accept kids younger than 7 as our method of teaching and learning requires the developmental milestones of fine motor skills and ability to focus and stay seated normally reached by age 7.

• Parents of students with special educational needs (neurodiverse and disabled) need to email [email protected] to join our SEN mailing list. We release early bird tickets for our afternoon sessions which have SEN teaching assistant to help meet your child's needs at art class. Please do not book through this page. Dyslexic students don't need SEN help at our class and parents can book through this page.

• We run four daily sessions on selected dates during all school holidays besides from Christmas, 10:30 till 13:00 and 14:30 till 17:00. Should you book two sessions in one day, please note that we do not look after students during lunch break.

• We have a high ratio of 5 students per teacher as we specialise in individualised learning, making our classes suitable for students of all levels and a wide range of abilities.

• We thoroughly recommend booking more than one session during a holiday period as more often than not kids can be disappointed at having to wait until the next holiday class to complete their work, creating fine art paintings can generally take 6 + sessions to complete, some students take less and others take longer.

• Please be aware we teach fine art, our core values are to teach traditional drawing and painting techniques in a simplified way for kids to follow and to encourage our students to appreciate that great works of art take time, hard work, focus and determination to overcome difficulties. Our students greatly appreciate this as the rewards of their outcomes always surpass their expectations. Please do explain to your children before attending that works are only taken home once completed to help prevent them from getting smudged/ damaged/ worked on without our guidance.

• Our studio is located at Hackney City Farm. You'll find us at the farm yard where the animal stables are, at the back building to the right hand side.

• General admission £33 plus booking fee.

• Concessionary tickets available for those able to supply proof of being in receipt of benefits. Please email [email protected] for a discount code. Cost £26 plus booking fee.

• On the day please send your kids with a face covering, snack and suitable clothing for making art.

• Tickets are non refundable. You can exchange your tickets for a small admin fee of £0.50 as well as re-sell them on Tixel (After posting your ticket on Tixel, email [email protected] to send us the link and we'll share it with our waiting list). Terms and conditions apply.

• You can join a waiting list for our events: If a ticket becomes available, you will be contacted automatically with further instructions on how to purchase your ticket. No further action is required.
