About this Event

Join us for a panel in collaboration with IRIIG, as Supplyframe DesignLab's Majenta Strongheart sits down with five guests to discuss entrepreneurship's role in creating social impact. Enjoy relevant industry discussion that sparks inspiration for your entry into the 2022 Hackaday Prize!

Panelists:

  • Moderator: is the Head of Design & Partnerships at Supplyframe's DesignLab where she works at the intersection of technology, design, social innovation, science, and fine arts. She is interested in socially positive design and collaboration; focusing on the ways design thinking and problem solving can contribute to a diverse range of conversations. Through her work Majenta aims to spark curiosity, provide access to new topics, and encourage human to human connection.
  • is the Product Development Engineer at Supplyframe DesignLab. He has designed and developed hundreds of products, including consumer electronics, kitchenware, and urban furniture for a number of global markets. Through his experience he has honed his expertise in rapid prototyping and DFM in a variety of materials.
  • is the founder and director of Needlab, she is selected as an Obama Leader by the Obama Foundation. She has designed and implemented human and environment centred solutions in partnership with UN-Habitat and other City governments on four continents. As a maker and social entrepreneur herself, Sameera enjoys teaching workshops and making sustainable design solutions reachable to all.
  • is the pedagogical director at the LDLC school in charge of the Digital Technology & Usage department. He graduated from the school of truancy and is an self-taught electronician. In the late 80, he worked as an engineering assistant in the textile industry, during which he filled his first patent. He is a serial inventor and entrepreneur. For the past eight years, he is involved in the makers-movement delivering courses, and workshops, and participating in hackathons.
  • is the co-founder of LAB01, a Fab Lab and innovation space in AmbĂ©rieu-en-bugey. She is an artist and maker, and she wanted to join a company whose focus was on sustainability with a heavy emphasis on innovative custom projects. So, she created one. She is active in the makers' community since 2014, bringing together people, tech, and creativity for frugal innovation.
  • is the founder of RPSD. He is a product designer and maker who has developed a way to make skateboard decks out of 100% recycled plastic and he has released it as open-source. In his fight against plastic waste, the designer has made a downloadable kit containing all the information people need to make their own skateboard decks. He is an active member of the maker community and enjoys teaching and sharing skills.
