My laptop is older -- so I ditched Unity and found Bevy! ☕️ I wanted to get into game dev, but my old machine just couldn't handle heavy engines. Then I discovered Bevy, a lightweight, blazing-fast game engine built in Rust. No lag, no bloat—just pure coding joy. If you've ever felt left out because your hardware can't keep up, come join me for a fun, casual, coffee-fueled session at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. Let's build physics simulations together, share tips, and prove you don't need a beast of a PC to make cool games. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key & Coffee!) – all skill levels welcome. Let's hack in the garden!

We are getting together to hack on a Game Engine in Rust, usingBevy, which is my personal favorite for data-oriented game architecture. Whether we are diving into physics simulations or exploring Frugal AI and Fine Tuning, this is a space to create, learn, and break out of the bubble.

Logistics & Comfort:

• When: Saturday, July 25, 2026 @ 10:00 AM (3 hours)
• Where: Bellevue Botanical Garden, WA
• Price: Free!
• Parking: There is a generous amount of free parking available right at the Bellevue Botanical Garden. If that fills up, there is overflow parking just beside us in Wilburton Hill Park. 🚗
• Support Local: We will be fueling our code at the localKettle Coffeeshop. Please help support them by grabbing a cup or two while you are there. ☕️
• Bring: Your laptop and charger 💻, your own API key 🔑, passion, and creativity.
