A Liszt Intézet - Magyar Kulturális Központ Pozsony szeretettel meghívja Önt Gábor Enikő fotóművész Hidden Fields (Rejtett Mezők) című kiállításának megnyitójára, ami a 36.

A kiállítás a 36.

The Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre Bratislava invites you to the opening of the exhibition Hidden Fields by photographer Enikő Gábor, presented as part of the 36th International Month of Photography.
Gábor Enikő is a recipient of the Balogh Rudolf Award and a photographic artist. She graduated from the Painting Department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1996, and subsequently received the Pécsi József Photography Scholarship for three years. In 2000, her Camera Reluxa series won the Grand Prize at the Esztergom Biennial of Photography. From 2022, she was a scholarship recipient of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
Gábor Enikő’s works occupy a distinctive position in contemporary Hungarian art. This is not only because they exist at the intersection of photography and painting, or because technical awareness and experimentation continually infuse her projects with new ideas and creative momentum, but also because, through a wide range of approaches, her work reflects on the current condition of the image and on the achievements and effects of the digital and virtual age.
The exhibition Hidden Fields is the result of an artistic research project developed over several years, reinterpreting the figures, instruments, and visual structures of psychological tests through the language of analogue and early photographic processes.
Enikő Gábor explores, through the works on display, how we attempt to systematise and quantify the human being—and what, in the process, inevitably remains beyond our grasp. Some of the works were created using early photographic processes that evoke the very beginnings of photography: cameraless images formed directly on photographic paper, as well as photographs made on hand-coated light-sensitive surfaces and brought into being by sunlight.
Through the photographic series in Hidden Fields, analogue processes emerge as far more than traditional techniques rooted in the past. Their inherent materiality and cultural significance offer a distinctive reflection on the fundamental dynamics of human perception and thought.
(The curator of the exhibiton: Nagy Zopán)
The exhibition is on view until December 11, during the following opening hours: Mon–Thu: 9:00–17:00, Fri: 9:00–14:00.
The exhibition is part of the 36th Month of Photography in Bratislava, which this year features 31 exhibitions from both Slovakia and abroad. For more information, please visit www.mesiacfotografie.eu
