About this Event
What happens when the world’s most powerful governments decide you’re an “enemy of the state”?
Join us for a conversation with renowned defense attorney Kent Schaffer as he pulls back the curtain on the high-stakes world of global sanctions and federal prosecution. We will explore what happens to real people when the U.S. government freezes their assets, erases their identity, and cuts them off from the global economy overnight.
Kent will share stories from the frontlines of defending the “globally indicted,” explaining the uphill battle of fighting a system where you’re often considered guilty until proven innocent.
We’ll explore the messy, secretive process of getting off a government blacklist and what it takes to reclaim a life once the federal government has you in its crosshairs.
Light bites and drinks included.
Attorneys in attendance are eligible to receive CLE credit.
