Award-winning blues guitarist Gwyn Ashton has toured Australia with Stevie Wright (The Easybeats), Jim Keays (Masters’ Apprentices), Swanee and in EU with Band of Friends (Rory Gallagher’s band). He has recorded with the likes of Robert Plant’s and Rory Gallagher’s band members and he has his own solo and trio projects.
Regarded as a “true blues player” by Johnny Winter and the “king of tone” by Robert Plant, Ashton is releasing his 11th album titled Grease Bucket and about to embark on touring the planet!
Ashton is a great crowd-pleasing entertainer and he lights up the stage worldwide. He is available for festivals and venues globally.
Other musicians on his recordings are members of Guns N’ Roses, Deep Purple, Whitesnake and many others. He has played festivals and/or toured with BB King, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, The Yardbirds, Canned Heat, Robin Trower, Jeff Healey, Tony Joe White, Johnny Winter, Richard Chapman, Van Morrison and many others. Formerly with Virgin Records he played a UK arena tour with veteran rockers Status Quo.
A strong contender for one of Mick Fleetwood’s lineups, he was also in the running to join Welsh band Budgie before singer Burke Shelley passed away.
