What is GWO Basic Safety Training?
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) course is the recognised entry-level certification for technicians working in the wind industry.
The course consists of four mandatory safety modules:
Working at Height
Learn how to work safely at height using fall protection equipment, rescue procedures and safe working practices within wind turbine environments.
Manual Handling
Develop safe lifting, carrying and handling techniques to reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
Fire Awareness
Understand fire prevention, emergency procedures and the correct use of firefighting equipment.
First Aid
Gain practical first aid skills for responding to workplace emergencies until professional medical assistance arrives.
Successful candidates receive GWO certification recorded on the WINDA database.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and physically capable of completing practical training exercises.
No previous wind industry experience is required.
Suitable clothing should be worn for practical training, including comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
Delegates must be able to understand and communicate in English throughout the course.
