Guy Davis speelt in oktober voor het eerst in bijna vijftien jaar opnieuw met een Amerikaanse band in de Benelux. De tweevoudige Grammy-genomineerde laat zich flankeren door Tony Coleman, jarenlang de drummer van B. B. King, Nerak Roth Patterson, de gitarist die al eerder met Davis tourde, en Nerak Patterson Jr. op bas.

Als zoon van de legendarische acteurs en activisten Ossie Davis en Ruby Dee groeide Davis op midden in de Amerikaanse burgerrechtenbeweging. Zijn vader was presentator tijdens de historische March on Washington waar Martin Luther King Jr. zijn beroemde "I Have a Dream"-speech bracht. Folklegende Pete Seeger behoorde tot de vriendenkring van de familie.

Guy Davis werd twee keer genomineerd voor een Grammy Award voor Best Traditional Blues en bouwde als muzikant, acteur, auteur en songwriter een indrukwekkende carrière uit. In zijn muziek komen blues, folk, roots, spoken word en wereldmuziek samen. Met gitaar, banjo en een warme podiumprésence brengt hij verhalen over het leven, de geschiedenis en de mensen die daarin vaak vergeten worden.

As the son of legendary actors and civil rights activists Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Davis grew up in the heart of the American civil rights movement.
