na guror adhikaṃ tattvaṃna guror adhikaṃ tapaḥ
tattva jñānāt paraṃ nāsti
tasmai śrī gurave namaḥ
There is no higher truth than the Guru, no higher penance than (service to) the Guru, there is nothing higher than Realization of the Knowledge of the truth imparted by the Guru. My salutations to such a Guru, who is himself that very timeless truth (and who has taken a form to bless his disciples like us with real knowledge).
Guru Purnima is the most important time of the year for receiving the blessings of holy people. Blessings received during this time are equal to the blessings received during the rest of the year. According to India’s venerable rishis, cosmic energy flows through the human body, entering through the crown chakra and leaving through the feet. This is the reason why so much importance is given to the holy lotus feet of God, one’s teacher, or any holy person. The spiritual teacher becomes a channel for tremendous cosmic energy, which is available to all through their lotus feet. Thus, honoring one’s teacher at this time of year is most auspicious. Cosmic energy flows from the spiritual teacher’s feet in abundance. Amma Sri Karunamayi has touched the lives of countless people in her incarnation, leaving devotees overflowing with bliss and tremendous gratitude. The 5-Day Retreat is divided into Meditation Retreat and Ayurvedic Retreat.
The 3-Day Meditation Retreat (June 30 th - July 2nd) will cover Chakra Cleansing Techniques and Shakti Path.
The 2-Day Ayurvedic Retreat (July 3rd and July 4th) will teach Practices to purify, nourish, revitalize the body, mind and senses through ancient Ayurvedic ways.
The Celebration (FREE Public Program: July 2nd 5 p.m PST onwards) will feature Amma’s divine discourse, inspirational talks and bhajans. We will also have an opportunity to celebrate all Gurus and spiritual teachers, including Amma Sri Karunamayi, through the ever sacred Sri Pada Puja to Amma’s lotus feet.
