Guitarrísimo: Paula Requena

Join us for the exciting new concert of the Guitarrísimo series presented by the Instituto Cervantes Manchester the Society of Ibero-American and Latin American Music and Pixaudio. Enjoy an incredible performance by Paola Requena with her programme featuring Granados Albéniz Piazzolla among others.

Paola Requena is one of the most outstanding guitarists on the international scene. She has captivated audiences and critics at prestigious festivals such as the Castell de Peralada the Granada Festival of Music and Dance and the Barcelona International Guitar Competition.

She has been awarded and recognised in competitions such as the Francisco Tárrega International Competition in Benicàssim the Printemps de la Guitare in Belgium and the Andrés Segovia International Competition in La Herradura helping to establish her reputation as one of the most brilliant performers of her generation.

She has performed on stages across Europe Morocco and Algeria appearing as a soloist with renowned ensembles such as the Valencia Symphony Orchestra the Collegium Instrumentale and the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra. As part of chamber music projects she collaborates with Carmesí Guitar Duo and Contrastes Duo showcasing her versatility as a musician.

In recent years she has been invited to perform in iconic venues such as the Sergei Rachmaninov Russian Conservatory in Paris the Musical Instruments Museum in Brussels the Zaryadye Music Hall in Moscow the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna and the Instituto Cervantes bringing the beauty of Spanish guitar to audiences worldwide.

Since 2007 she has regularly participated in television recordings with a Madrid-based production company with broadcasts on TVE1 TVE2 Clan Antena 3 and Tele 5.

Beyond her performing career she is deeply committed to education delivering masterclasses at conservatoires in Spain France and Belgium and sharing her knowledge with the next generation of guitarists.

Disfruta de un increíble espectáculo de la galardonada guitarrista Paola Requena con un programa con piezas de Granados Albéniz o Piazzolla entre otros.

Paola Requena es una de las guitarristas más destacadas de la escena internacional ha cautivado tanto al público como a la crítica en festivales de prestigio como el Castell de Peralada el Festival de Música y Danza de Granada y el Certamen Internacional de Guitarra de Barcelona.

Galardonada en numerosos concursos internacionales su talento ha sido reconocido en certámenes como el Francisco Tárrega de Benicàssim el Printemps de la Guitare de Bélgica y el Andrés Segovia de La Herradura consolidando su reputación como una de las intérpretes más brillantes de su generación.

Su arte ha resonado en escenarios de toda Europa Marruecos y Argelia actuando como solista junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica de Valencia el Collegium Instrumentale y la Orquesta de Cámara de Cartagena. También es una apasionada de la música de cámara formando parte de proyectos como Dúo Carmesí y el Dúo Contrastes.

En los últimos años ha sido invitada a actuar en espacios icónicos como el Conservatorio Ruso Sergei Rachmaninov de París el Museo de Instrumentos Musicales de Bruselas el Zaryadye Music Hall de Moscú el Palacio Imperial Hofburg de Viena y el Instituto Cervantes llevando la guitarra española a públicos de todo el mundo.

Desde 2007 participa regularmente en grabaciones para televisión con una productora madrileña con emisiones en TVE1 TVE2 Clan Antena 3 y Tele 5.

Además de su faceta interpretativa desarrolla una intensa labor pedagógica impartiendo clases magistrales en conservatorios de España Francia y Bélgica compartiendo su conocimiento con las nuevas generaciones de guitarristas.
