Joscho Stephan is a German guitarist who is known for his performances of classical, jazz and pop standards interpreted in the style of gypsy jazz, the music inspired by Django Reinhardt. Which makes sense, actually, because Django himself performed a wide range of songs from different genres, it was all just music to him. Joscho shares similar sensibilities. At a Joscho Stephan concert, you are as likely to hear a Django Reinhardt song as a Stevie Wonder tune, or a Jimi Hendrix song, but each interpreted through the unique Django Reinhardt lens.
Joscho began playing the guitar at the age of six, influenced by his father who had been a member of a cover band. Joscho is a globe trotting guitarist, he's in demand at festivals around the world, he plays concerts in every major capital, he is a teacher at music camps and he has his own music academy. Joscho has shared the stage with Tommy Emmanuel, Bireli Lagrene, Matteo Mancuso, Gonzalo Bergara, Richard Davis, and countless other amazing guitarists. In short, he is a guitarist's guitarist!
For this performance he will be in a duo context with his longtime collaborator, Sveng Jungbeck.
Doors open at 7 PM, show starts at 7:30 PM. There is no reserved seating. Waller's serves coffee, soft drinks, tea, wine and beer in addition to wraps, snacks, pastries, etc. There is plenty of parking.
