Classical guitarist Dave McLellan and mezzo-soprano Fanny Lora will perform Españolería: a Spanish song experience for voice and guitar, as part of the free Guitar Sundays series.
Españolería is an opportunity for the audience to experience some of the greatest Spanish poetry and classical music for voice and guitar, including pieces by Joaquin Rodrigo, Federico Garcia Lorca, and Manuel de Falla. This musical journey not only celebrates the unique classical music traditions of Spain but also serves as a powerful educational tool, enlightening audiences of all backgrounds about the intricate tapestry woven by centuries of artistic evolution.
ABOUT DAVE MCLELLAN
Dave McLellan has been a concert and collaborative chamber music guitarist since 1976, performing throughout the U.S., South America, Great Britain, and Europe. He has appeared in Carnegie Hall (NYC) and Wigmore Hall (London). He is a Music Minus One recording artist and an NEA grant recipient.
Dave McLellan has collaborated with Neil Anderson (Anderson-McLellan Guitar Duo), Frank Wallace, Edward Flower, and many more. He is a former faculty member of The Hartt School and the University of Connecticut and founder of Concert In Your Living Room, which provides fund-raising assistance to non-profit organizations. He is currently on the faculty of Performing Arts Center MetroWest and the Artist in Residence program in Harvard, MA. Dave is the orchestral timpanist for Lincoln-Sudbury Civic Orchestra.
ABOUT FANNY LORA
Fanny Lora is a vibrant artist, singer, music educator, Alexander Technique teacher, and choral director specializing in Spanish/Latino repertoire. Fanny is an active recitalist singing in private/public events, and operas. Last season, Fanny produced her 2nd international tour Andaluz, which she performed in the United States, as well as in the Dominican Republic.

Guitar Sundays is a series of monthly free concerts that showcase a rich lineup of guitar talent from New Hampshire and the greater Boston area. The program is co-presented by Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (PMAC) and Portsmouth Public Library, in association with the Boston Classical Guitar Society and curated by Mitch Shuldman.
