Free Guitar (and Ukulele) Beginner Lessons available this Fall
Come out to Sherwood Park on Monday Night, September 15th, 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., for great music and sing-a-long! Guitar Club Grand Junction is kicking off the Fall with an outdoor music jam, highlighted by their “Top 30 Greatest Guitar Songs,” (That we've learned so far).
The community is also invited to bring a lawn chair and come listen or sing-a-long on classic favorites. All musicians (guitarist and others) are welcome to play along. Information will be available for Guitar Club regular meetings (and Free Beginner Lessons beginning in October) on Monday nights at First Christian Church, 1326 N. 1st Street. “Each night is filled with singing as we all work at becoming better musicians and just have fun. We often have ukuleles, banjos, then sometimes bass guitar and other instruments at times. We welcome any instrument that can blend in with the songs, and people can come and just listen or sing-a-long. It’s a great atmosphere!”
Guitar Club Grand Junction is a “club.” That means that everyone has something to learn and something to share. Players raise their hand when they have a question or need some help and usually someone close by will lend a hand before the leaders get to them. Everyone pitches in. That includes song selection. Everyone is welcome to submit songs to learn, or additions to the Top 30+ list. The Top 30+ list consists of the songs that players enjoy and want to spend extra time polishing. Songs include classics by James Taylor, the Eagles, John Prine, John Denver, the Rolling Stones; and also contemporary artists, like Ed Sheeran, Molly Tuttle and Jason Isbell, and many more. As long as it is positive music, and fun!
If you’ve always wanted to play an instrument, Monday evenings at the First Christian Church in Grand Junction is the place to be; “Raising up music in Grand Valley.”
