Guided Walk and Chumash Museum Tour

9:00 am (10-15 mins): Arrive and Gather

9:15 am (45 mins.): A private guided tour of the inside of the museum. The docent will discuss such topics as tomol building and use, rock art, basketry, and shell-bead making and trade. This will include a touch table with replica artifacts and time to answer any questions.

10:00 am (45 mins.): Abalone necklace craft and Chumash games.

10:45 am (45 mins.): Guided walk to the replica village. The docent will provide information about native plants and village life. The easy walk takes about 10 minutes; the trail is a half mile long, (each way), on level ground that has a paved or packed-dirt surface. It can be easily navigated by wheelchairs or strollers. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a refillable water container.

11:30 am (30-60 mins.) Enjoy lunch under the beautiful oak trees. Catch up with your NAWIC sisters. Browse the gift shop, and further support the museum.
