Guided walk with a Tree Steward to see a remarkable array of trees, some of which are not often seen in Albemarle County.
About this Event

Join Tree Steward Mary Lee Epps and Mary Jane Epps on this guided walk to see a remarkable array of trees, some of which are not often seen in Albemarle County, such as American wild plum, shingle oak and butternut. The walk is mostly on partly or fully shaded well established trails with one staircase over an elevated bridge.

The walk will take approximately 2 hours covering about two miles on gently sloping or relatively level woodland trails, much of it along Preddy Creek. The focus will be on tree identification and interesting aspects of the trees we will be seeing. Long pants and long-sleeved shirts are encouraged because of ticks, poison ivy, etc.

Bring water and a snack if desired. Meet at the large map board by the restrooms and adjacent to the parking lot. There are restrooms. Max allowed 18- adults only
