A Closer Look at Danish and Nordic Art.

Join our art historian for an exploration of one of the defining features of Danish and Nordic art: light. Through a selection of artworks from the 19th and early 20th centuries, you’ll discover how artists were fascinated by the unique qualities of light and found different ways to capture it in their work.

Featuring both renowned and lesser-known artists, this tour brings together a variety of artistic voices, styles, and perspectives. From sunlit landscapes and atmospheric interiors, each artwork reveals a different interpretation of the Nordic light and the artists continued fascination of capturing it onto canvas.

Along the way, our guide will share insights into the artists behind the works and place them in a broader cultural and historical context, showing how light became a main feature of Nordic art.

Whether this is your first encounter with Danish and Nordic art or you simply want a deeper understanding of it, this tour offers a thematic introduction to our vast collection. After the tour, continue exploring at your own pace and discover even more artworks throughout the atmospheric historic galleries.
