Join volunteer hike docent Franklin Young to check on Barnatte and Owliver! Golden Gate Dairy has been the nesting ground for barn owls for over 35 years. We could possibly meet the latest batch of baby owls. Along the way, we'll look for and enjoy the last of the wildflowers.

Trailhead: Dias Ridge trailhead on Panoramic Highway
Hike Route: Dias Ridge Trail to Miwok Trail; Miwok Trail down to Redwood Creek Trail; Redwood Creek Trail to Muir Beach and the Dias Ridge Trail; Dias Ridge Trail back to the trailhead.
Difficulty: Moderate (easy pace, but some slightly steep trail sections). The hike is about 7 miles with 1000 ft in elevation change.
Additional information: Pack a lunch for this hike! Please dress in layers for changing temperatures and possible coastal fog and wear suitable shoes for hiking. Sun protection is strongly advised if there is no fog or in case fog clears. Carry drinking water (none available at the trailhead or enroute) and snacks. Go easy on the morning caffeinated beverages as there are no restrooms at the trailhead. Be prepared for the presence of poison oak and ticks.
