Tucquan Glen is one of the most scenic ravines that opens into the Susquehanna River. Join us as we wind our way through a rhododendron and hemlock canopied trail along Tucquan Creek to the Susquehanna River. The initial two-thirds of this glen are beautiful and peaceful, while the lower glen is wild and rugged.What to Expect: This is a moderate-to-difficult 3-mile hike with multiple stream crossings, slick rocks, and steep climbs. There are no restrooms available onsite. This event is for ages 15 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
Where to Meet: Directions to parking will be emailed to participants the day before the event. Parking at Tucquan Glen & Pyfer Nature Preserves remains closed.
What to Bring: Bring water and a snack. Water levels may cause the stream crossing to be wet. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Hiking poles are recommended but not required.
Hike Leaders: This hike will be led by Rachel Haynes and Mary Patterson, both Lancaster Conservancy Interpretive Rangers. Rachel loves discovering new places and basking in the lush glens tucked along the Susquehanna. Mary loves wildflowers and butterflies amongst the many other wonderful things that can be discovered in nature.
Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
