Guided Hike led by Mackenzie Kleinpeter, Certified Advanced Florida Master Naturalist
Hanna Park South Trail in Jacksonville, Florida, is a loop made up of 90% narrow footpath twisting and turning up and down through magnificent maritime hammock forest.
Bring the whole family, but for the comfort of your pet and others, please leave the pets at home. If you decide to bring kiddos remember this is a 4 mile mildly strenuous hike in areas that may be muddy so please use discretion. Bring your binoculars if you have them, and make sure to bring plenty of water. Try not to wear any strong scents, as we don’t want to scare off the critters. Make sure to bring insect repellant as bugs are known to be bad on the trail.
Activities:
Hiking, bird watching, looking for animal tracks and signs in the area, plant identification, and free coloring sheets/stickers for any kids.
**Park admission is not included in the guided hike fee. The park entrance fees are as follows: $5 per car or $3 per pedestrian and bicyclist.
You must sign up for this event in advance. You will receive a confirmation email upon registration.
All bookings are final! Upon registration, Peek Protect is offered as a cancelation insurance if you need to cancel your booking. If you cancel your Booking on your own initiative at least 24 hours before the start, Peek Protect will refund you 100% of the protected amount listed in your confirmation email. If Peek Protect is not selected upon registration, no refund will be issued. If Hike It Florida cancels the event for any reason, a full refund will be issued.
