About this Event
This interactive workshop serves as an African American cultural guide designed to weave together families, friends, classmates, and reunion groups through storytelling, history, and meaningful connections. A central feature of the experience is the African Naming Ceremony, which invites participants to explore identity, ancestry, and personal meaning through the power of names.
Each participant will receive guided instructions on how to research their given name, discover its meaning, and reflect on how that meaning connects to their personality, values, and life journey. This process encourages pride, self-awareness, and shared discovery of individual strengths and cultural roots.
Program will take place in the Galleria on Tuesday, February 17th from 5:30-7:00pm!
