Guest Artist Workshop: DIY Ceramic Trays!

Welcome to the featured guest artist workshop at Fisk Avenue DIY!

For this project, everyone would get a 12 x 12 clay slab to make whatever size tray they would like. We will start with raw clay and each person may then apply whatever combination of texturizing, shaping, applying shapes, stamping, carving, or writing to the clay. You will also have the option of applying underglaze to create your final masterpiece. Our guest workshop leaders, Mandy and Melissa, will then fire your projects and return them to the shop for pick-up!

A little about guest workshop leader, Mandy, and her journey with pottery as a medium:

"I started doing pottery about 10 years ago when my daughter took it her freshman year. Even though I’d never done pottery before I signed the two of us up with a membership at The Potter’s Shop. My daughter far surpassed my abilities but I was hooked and started taking lessons. I quickly discovered that using clay to create made me feel alive. I’ve met many friends like my pottery show partner, Melissa Flynn, who I met in a class. She will be at the workshop helping everyone find their creative spirit."
