The Calla Project will be in residency at Furman University from September 24th-26th where they are teaching lessons to Furman Music students, presenting a masterclass, and performing a recital that's free and open to the public. Founded in 2024, The Calla Project is a dynamic ensemble dedicated to fostering collaboration and building community. With a passion for artistic exchange and mutual inspiration, The Calla Project aims to create connections that resonate beyond the concert hall, engaging composers, performers, and audiences alike in meaningful musical dialogues. With each performance, they cultivate an environment of mutual inspiration, presenting works that celebrate both contemporary voices and timeless classics in chamber music.
Comprised of passionate educators, The Calla Project is deeply invested in making chamber music accessible and transformative for every listener. Their collective wealth of experience allows them to bring their extensive expertise in pedagogy, musicianship, and industry knowledge to the classroom, creating impactful performances and educational engagements for students of all ages. Through masterclasses, workshops, and innovative programming, they bridge the gap between the stage and the studio, nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Members of The Calla Project have performed with esteemed ensembles such as the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, Colorado Ballet, Boulder Symphony, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Brass Quintet, Aruba Symphony Festival Orchestra, “Our Planet” Live in Concert USA Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, the Panama City Symphony Orchestra, the South Georgia Ballet Orchestra, and Orvieto Musica in Orvieto, Italy.
The Calla Project debuted in April for their inaugural guest artist residency at the University of Utah last season, and most recently enjoyed a week teaching and performing in Arkansas. Highlights of their 2025-2026 season include performances along the Eastern Seaboard, including South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The core performing members of The Calla Project are Dr. Angela King, Adrianna Korey, Nathalie Mejia-Zec, Maryna Pohlman, and Madison Sinan.
