Join us for our annual community breakfast, where we will have a panel discussion about the importance of food security in our community. With community leaders Indu Arora, Court Desautels, and Carolyn McLeod-McCarthy, we will explore the topic of food security in our community, and how different organizations and sectors are doing their part to support those in need.

Ticket cost includes a light breakfast and refreshments. A portion of all ticket sales will go towards a donation to the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington and the Guelph Food Bank.

Indu Arora
Director of Development, Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington
Indu Arora is the Director of Development at the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, where she brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community well-being. She has extensive community engagement experience, having served on boards and committees such as eMERGE, UGDSB’s Safe Equitable & Inclusive Schools Committee, West Willow Community Co-Op, and Black Tie Bingo. She also co-founded the Guelph Punjabi Cultural Group, where she has been instrumental in planning fundraising events for local charities, including the Children’s Foundation.
A YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Honouree and Guelph’s Top 20 Under 40 award recipient, Indu is known for her role as a community connector and dedicated fundraising professional. She believes in the “Fun of Fundraising,” bringing enthusiasm and warmth to every initiative. At home, she is happily married and a proud mom of two, with a love for hockey that brings her family together. Indu is passionate about reducing food insecurity and ensuring that children and youth have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
Court Desautels
President & CEO, Neighbourhood Group
Court Desautels is President & CEO of the Neighbourhood Group, a Certified B Corporation that manages five restaurants across four brands (Borealis Grille, The Wooly Pub, Miijidaa Café + Bistro, Park Eatery) in Guelph & Kitchener. Passionate about redefining business norms, Court prioritizes exceptional service, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. His philosophy centers on nurturing team well-being and promoting diversity, ensuring financial, social, and environmental well-being. Through initiatives in sustainability, diversity, poverty alleviation, and wellness, Court embodies a holistic approach to leadership, driving impactful change in the restaurant industry.
Carolyn McLeod-McCarthy
Managing Director, Guelph Food Bank
Carolyn McLeod-McCarthy is the Managing Director of the Guelph Food Bank (GFB). Her role includes managing the operations at the 100 Crimea St location, food procurement, media relations, working with other food support servicing programs in the city, and supporting the other 10 locations - soon to be 11 - in the GFB network.
Carolyn, a Guelph native, started her career working in the Editorial Department at the Waterloo Region Record newspaper which morphed into wearing many hats to head several projects with the marketing and advertising departments as well as one of the creators of the magazine division. After 20 years here, Carolyn moved on to teaching in the Business Marketing department teaching Marketing and Business entrepreneurship at Conestoga College while running her own arts studio where she runs an annual arts event to help promoted and support local artisans and makers. She's been on several committees which includes Marketing Chair for the Fergus Scottish Festival and board member, the Guelph Arts Council Communications and website committee, and the Business Marketing Program advisory committee at Conestoga College. Fast forward to today, and Carolyn is using her vast experience to help the Guelph Food Bank expand their operations with new incentives and programs while maintaining and building new relationships with other service organizations in the city.
