About the director:
Kenneth Müller has a degree in Digital Film and 3D Animation, as well as being a director, editor and musician. Born in Guatemala City in 1985, from an early age he was immersed in art. He began studying piano and music at age 10 under the tutelage of Julliard's academic pianist, Denise Meneses. At the age of 17, he entered the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala to study electronic engineering, although he abandoned this career at the age of 19 due to his passion for art. Subsequently, he emigrated to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, where he began a decade of career as a filmmaker. During his time at the university, he was hired by various organizations, institutions, governments, and musical artists to create audiovisual material. He worked with entities such as the European Union, HP Mexico and the President of the Republic of Guatemala, Álvaro Colom, as well as with artists such as Reyli Barba, which allowed him to exhibit his work on prominent television channels such as FOX, MTV LA, TELEHIT and RITMOSONLATINO. In collaboration with a master screenwriter, he began the project "12 seconds", a feature film that he completed at the age of 26 in various locations in Mexico and Guatemala. This suspense thriller gave him the opportunity to direct the three-time Ariel winner, Mario Zaragoza, and became a commercial success, being very well received in Guatemalan movie theaters and positioning itself as one of the most watched films in the history of Guatemalan cinema. In March 2014, it had the honor of participating as a gala at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. In addition, in November 2014, he received recognition both at the Central American and national levels by winning the Icarus Festival in several categories, including Best Central American Fiction Feature Film, Best Production, Best Editing, Best Art, Best Sound, Best Music and a special mention as director. In March 2015, the film won the Netflix Mexico Award in a competition that allowed it to be commercially distributed worldwide, reaching more than 50 regions of the world and 60 million viewers. In 2017, "12 Seconds" was distributed by FOX for Latin America and the United States. Currently, Müller maintains an active career as a director of commercials and music videos, collaborating with various brands and artists from different countries such as Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peru, Canada and Guatemala. His clients include Mercedes Benz, Spanish football club FCB Barcelona, AJE and HP Mexico.
