Guardians II - The Hidden Ministry is the second installment in a body of work dedicated to exploring Chinese traditional music, experimental improvisation, and thematic narratives centered on climate change and humanity’s relationship with nature. Featuring new compositions and arrangements by vocalist/composer Annie Chen, this new work investigates the intimate and often unseen lives of mountain birds, using the melodies of ancient Chinese mountain songs as a foundation for each composition.
