Guard Card Certification November 10th

**As of 2024, this class must be completed in-person** In the past, the online version of this course was acceptable however, due to changes in State law, online certificates are no longer accepted by BSIS.

This is the required training class to apply for a California Guard Card, Private Proprietary Security Officer License (PPSO) or Alarm Agent.

At the completion of this 8-hour training, you will have a working understanding of the powers, limitations, and responsibilities of a guard. Before you leave, we will help you fill out your state application, issue you a certificate of completion, and make sure you have zero questions about the application process.

There are three steps to getting your guard card:

1. Complete the Powers to Arrest Course

2. Submit your application to the State and pay the application fee

3. Get fingerprinted (Livescan) to start your background check

Class Prerequisites:

Be at least 18 years old

Possess a State ID or Driver's License

Have the right to work in California (Check here for the requirements BSIS Forms of ID)

Class Registration:

You will receive two emails from us prior to class.

1st Email: Training Registration-This is sent immediately after purchase. It is a confirmation of your purchase and your receipt.

2nd Email: Registration Confirmation-This is sent after we confirm you meet any class prerequisites and accept you into the class.
