🍂 Fall Semester 🍂 October 6, 2026 - January 24, 2027
- WHEN & WHERE
The Fall Semester will run from Tuesday, October 6, 2026, through January 24, 2027, and will include a total of 12 weekly classes held at 32 Prince St. (SoHo).
- PARTICIPANTS
With the exception of the courses specifically dedicated to children, all other courses are designed for adults. Parents of teens who may wish to enroll their children in any of the courses offered should enquire about availability and permission to register.
- CLASS SIZE & REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum number of Students per course: 7
• Maximum number of Students per course: 12
Courses will be closed once the maximum number of students is reached. Courses will be canceled if the minimum number of students is not reached five days before the scheduled start of classes. If GTF cancels a course for any reason, your donation, minus any Eventbrite fees, will be given back.
Out of respect for your professors and fellow students, we ask participants to attend regularly. If more than two of the first five classes are missed, we recommend not continuing with the course.
If you want to register for more than one course, please note that you are expected to attend all classes for each course.
- COURSE ENROLLMENT
To enroll in the classes, please secure your spot by registering on Eventbrite. To make your course selection and for more details, please be guided by the table below and the course description available in the 'Agenda' section, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The actual cost for the Grow Together Foundation to run each course is approximately:
- $240 per person for the Italian for Children (ages 3–5) class, which includes 12 lessons of 60 minutes each, for a total of 12 hours of instruction.
- $300 per person for Italian, Latin, and English language classes, which include 12 lessons of 75 minutes each, for a total of 15 hours of instruction.
The amount you choose to donate is up to you.
In order to keep our programs accessible to everyone, we rely on the generosity and support of those who are able to donate. We truly appreciate any generosity you can offer. Your donation helps cover the costs associated with running the program and allows us to continue offering these classes to the community.

- WAITING LIST
If the course you selected is at capacity, you may place your name on the waiting list for that course. We will notify you if an opening occurs.
- INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The course-specific syllabus will be provided on the first day of class, and the instructor will notify you of any supplies you may need.
- MAKE-UP CLASSES
If you miss a class, speak with the course instructor to receive guidance and any material that may have been distributed in class. If you feel that you need to arrange a make-up class, you may book it directly with your instructor.

- PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE
Participants will be required to sign a Photographic Release Form at the start of the course. Photos taken during classes may be used for internal, educational, or promotional purposes, including websites, social media, and printed materials.

Italian Classes
Our Italian Courses
Info: Our Italian courses are designed to be taken progressively, based on your previous knowledge of Italian: Novice → Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced. If you’re not sure which level is right for you, email us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help you find the best fit!
1. Italian Novice (A1)
Info: The Novice (A1) course is designed for students who are approaching the study of Italian for the first time.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
Participants will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at social interaction of informal type.
They will be able to introduce themselves and others and ask/answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they like to do.
2. Italian Beginner I (A1/A2)
Info: The Beginner I (A1/A2) course is designed for students who have already been introduced to the Italian language and are beginning to use the language in familiar situations.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
Participants will be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g., very basic personal and family information, studying, making calls, and dinner with friends).
Will be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
3. Italian Beginner II (A2)
Info: The Beginner II (A2) course builds on the foundation established in the previous two courses.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
Participants will be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Will be able to describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Will be able to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in community, work, leisure, etc.
4. Italian Intermediate I (A2/B1)
Info: The Intermediate I (A2/B1) course builds on the foundation established in the previous Beginner course.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
Participants will be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. They will be able to produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
Will be able to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions.
5. Italian Intermediate II (B1)
Info: The Intermediate II (B1) course builds on the foundation established in the Intermediate course.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
After completing all sessions and assignments, participants will be equipped to handle most daily situations they may encounter, produce simple connected texts on familiar topics with ease, describe various experiences confidently, and explain their opinions in a clear and compelling manner.
6. Italian Advanced (B1/B2)
Info: The Advanced I (B1/B2) course is designed for individuals who are well on the way to develop proficiency in the Italian language.
What to expect after attending all the sessions and doing the assignments:
Participants will be able to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics. They will be able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Participants will be able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Italian for Children (ages 3-6)
Info: This playful 12-hour course introduces children ages 3–6 to the sounds and rhythms of Italian. Through short songs, movement games, picture stories, and hands-on play, children will explore simple greetings, colors, numbers, animals, family words, and everyday expressions.
Games and guided role-play will encourage children to listen, repeat, take turns, and use Italian with growing comfort and enjoyment. Andiamo!
Latin Class
Latin
Info: This 15-session introductory course offers a practical foundation in Latin through the study of familiar Catholic prayers, Scripture-based phrases, and texts from the Mass.
Students will develop confident pronunciation, build essential vocabulary, learn the fundamentals of Latin grammar, and practice translating short passages. By the end of the course, participants will be able to recognize common grammatical forms and engage more deeply with frequently used prayers and liturgical texts.
No prior knowledge of Latin is required.
English Class
English Conversation
Info: The goal of this English conversation course is to promote basic conversational skills and personal confidence when beginning to speak English. Classes will focus on specific topics around which students can learn new vocabulary, colloquial, and idiomatic expressions. Grammatical points will be explained/clarified as they are encountered during class discussion. Students will also work on their pronunciation on an as needed basis.
