GSU Symphony Orchestra presents "The Romantic Imagination"

The Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra returns to Kopleff Recital Hall for The Romantic Imagination — an evening celebrating the expressive depth and dramatic power of the Romantic musical tradition. The program opens with Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor, "Unfinished" — a haunting, mysterious work that stands among the most beloved in the orchestral repertoire. GSU cello professor Dr. Gabriel Prynn joins the orchestra as featured soloist in Gabriel Fauré's Élégie, Op. 24, a work of profound lyrical beauty and emotional intimacy. The concert concludes with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Marche Slave, Op. 31 — bold, rhythmically charged and full of dramatic orchestral color. Together these three works trace the remarkable range of Romantic music, from introspection and tenderness to grandeur and intensity. Dr. Nicholas Han conducts.
