The GSHS Science Club eagerly prepares to ignite young minds with a spectrum of scientific pursuits at the upcoming '8th GSHS National Science Festival 2024' held at Government Science High School. With an array of innovative events and engaging programs, our goal is to exceed past successes and assemble the largest congregation of science enthusiasts nationwide. This inclusive platform promises to inspire and motivate attendees on their journey to explore the wonders of science.There are 3 groups in total:

• PROJECT DISPLAY COMPETITION:
There will be three groups in this competition.
- Junior (Class VI-VIII)
- Secondary (Class IX-X)
- Senior (Class XI-XII)
Rules:
a) Each project can have a maximum of 3 members.
b) The members of a project must be of the same institution.
c) Project members are bound to be present in the venue with their project at least half an hour before the reporting time according to the schedule.
d) The 2 categories on which the projects will be judged are:
* Mechanical
* Non-mechanical
e) Participants must bring all necessary electronic equipment (multi-plugs, laptops, etc). The organizers will not provide this equipment.
f) Participants are bound to follow any decision made by the authority of GSHS Science Club during the competition.

• SCRAPBOOK EXHIBITION:
There will be 2 groups in this competition.
- Secondary (Class IX-X)
-Higher Secondary (XI -XII)
Rules:
-The subject will have to be science-based
- This will be an individual event.

• WALL MAGAZINE EXHIBITION:
There will be three groups in this competition.
- Junior (Class VI-VIII)
- Secondary (Class IX-X)
- Senior (Class XI-XII)
Rules:
- This will be a team-based event. Each team can have a maximum of 2 members.
- The subject will have to be science-based.

• Digital Poster designing:
OFA (Open For All)
-Participants will have to register before the event.
- Participants will have to create a poster which is relevant to the topic.
- Each participant should submit one entry only.
-Participants must submit their posters by the given Email address with their information. Participant name or identifying mark must not appear on the E-Poster; however, participants must write name, school name and contact number as text in the email.
-The poster should be in JPG, PNG, or PDF format. And participants must rename the file accordingly: name, class, name of institution, phone number.
-All E-Poster should be the original work of the participant. Any participant found violating rules and regulation will be disqualified from competition.
-Note that this is a submission-based event, participants must submit their posters before the deadline. Any submission after the deadline will not be accepted.
- Only online registration is open for this event.

• TEAM-BASED QUIZ:
-The competition will be Open to All Groups.
Rules:
-Spot registration will be available.
- Each team needs to pay 100tk to participate on this segment via bkash or nagad.
-Teams must be composed of 3 members from the same group.
-The competition will be held in two rounds. The top six scoring teams from the preliminary written round will move on to the final stage round.
-Participants must carry their institution ID card.

• SCIENCE FICTION STORY WRITING :
The competition will be open to all groups.
Rules:
-This will be an online segment
- An intro will be given; participants will have to complete the story using their own imagination.
- No vulgar/abusive words can be used.
- Stories will have to be unique. Copying plots from existing works of science fiction will not be acceptable.

• PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION:
The competition will be open to all groups.
There will be two categories:
- DSLR Photography
- Mobile Photography
Rules for Submission:
- Only online entries will be accepted. No print submissions will be accepted for his/her entry.
- Photos must be either Colorful or Black & white.
- Each participant may submit a maximum of 5. There will be no fees necessary for submitting photos, but participants have to pay a registration fee of BDT 500 for EACH of his/her selected DSLR photos and BDT 300 for mobile photos.
- All submissions are final. Further changes will not be allowed.
Submission Guidelines:
- The file name of the photos needs to be in this
manner:
Your Full Name _Your Institution Name_Group_Category_Submission Number_Caption_Phone Number
- For example,
Safin Ahmed_Government Science High School_DSLR Photography_01_Cityscape_01*********
- The Participants must be the sole owners of each of
their photos submitted.
• Entries must be attached to an Email by file uploading instructions as detailed below:
- The file must be in .jpg/.png format.
- The file must be under 100 MB.
• Photos bearing copyright/ watermark stamp/ logo will NOT be accepted.
• Selected Participants will have to pay their registration fees by bKash or Nagad for the selected photo. The account number will be notified after the result.
• Every participant of the Photography Exhibition will be given a participation certificate and also every selected participant will get their photo framed.
