DESCRIPTION

Many developers use Git's version control technology on a daily basis, whether directly from the command line or through a platform such as GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, and many others. And yet, this technology is often learned not in a classroom but on the job.

This month at GRWebDev powered by LaFleur Marketing, we'll hear from a group of professional developers as they discuss why we use version control and how we track changes to files using Git. We'll also tackle several hands-on exercises to experience how developers use Git both on their local development machine and also collaboratively with a distributed team.

WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop with Git and Visual Studio Code installed. Attendees will also need a GitHub account for our exercises. (We have a limited number of machines available for use by attendees; let us know if you require one during the RSVP process.)

Links to resources and more information about the workshop are available on GitHub.
