Come join the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus as we kick off our 29th season with an evening of compelling and uplifting music at our Annual Winter Concert at St. Cecilia Music Center.
Still reeling from the recent election, we are left even more determined to fight for democracy and the rights of the marginalized, as well as for the rights of women to have control over their own bodies. Our ancestors were no strangers to struggle - they protested, organized and marched and made great strides so that we might vote, have access to education, work, and property. We know that together we can be powerful.
This season we explore the source and power of our own voices, as well as celebrate the brave voices who have come before us. Come hear classical, folk-inspired, and contemporary pieces such as "Look Out Above" by composers Dessa and Jocelyn Hagen, "So Much Mine" by Jonatha Brooke and arranged for GRWC by Jocelyn Scofield, "Flight" by Craig Carnelia, "We Remember Them" by Susan LaBarr, “Iraqi Peace Song“ and many others.
