It’s been a while since the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) had a full on grunge night! That’s why it’s the perfect time to bring in Grunge Cantina who are a Powerhouse Tribute to Grunge music on Saturday April 12th! There’s no other Grunge Tribute out there like Grunge Cantina, as not only will they play the music from the BIG 4 Grunge bands (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarde, Alice in Chains), but they will perform the music of lesser known Grunge bands that true fans of the scene will appreciate! This is going to be an awesome night that all Grunge music fans need to come to! Tickets are $10 in advance, $10 at the door!Grunge Cantina, is a powerhouse tribute to the raw energy and unrelenting spirit of grunge and alternative rock. Born out of a shared passion for the music that defined the ’90s, they’re a band that lives and breathes the gritty, rebellious soul of grunge — and they’re here to bring it to life in every performance.
Grunge Cantina is more than just a cover band; they’re a group of musicians with a shared love for the raw, unapologetic sound of the grunge era — a time when music was personal, real, and often noisy. Together, they’ve formed a band that pays homage to the icons of alternative rock, from Nirvana to Soundgarden, Pearl Jam to Alice In Chains, and everything in between. Whether it’s screaming your frustrations out to a powerful anthem or getting lost in the distorted chaos of a great riff, they want their shows to be a visceral, cathartic experience. Grunge Cantina put their own spin on some of the greatest grunge and alternative tracks of all time, blending faithful renditions with our their energy and interpretation to give you an experience that’s both nostalgic and fresh.
Grunge Cantina isn’t just about playing the hits. They dive deep into the grunge and alternative catalog, pulling out the forgotten gems alongside the radio staples. Their setlist spans from the early days of the genre to its later years, covering everything from the iconic sound of Seattle’s big four to lesser-known but equally impactful bands like Temple of the Dog, Screaming Trees, and Silverchair.
Their goal is simple: to create a concert experience that feels both intimate and explosive. From the moment the lights dim, their fans know they’re in for a high-energy, emotionally charged set, where the music takes center stage. They strive for authenticity, not just in recreating the songs but in capturing the essence of the grunge era — an era where music was raw, untamed, and unapologetically honest. They want their audience to leave their shows with the same sense of exhilaration and release that grunge gave millions of fans in the ’90s.
