Growing Mushrooms at Home

Learn how to grow your own edible mushrooms and enjoy them! During this workshop, we'll focus on the following objectives:

• Explain basic mushroom ecology and role fungi play in natural ecosystems.
• Describe the role of fungi as decomposers of organic matter.
• Identify mushroom varieties best suited for home production.
• Recognize environmental conditions required for successful mushroom cultivation.
• Demonstrate proper harvesting, handling, and consumption techniques for edible mushrooms.
• Apply general fungi safety guidelines to reduce risks associated with cultivation and consumption.
