Growing Butternut

Join us to learn from butternut expert James McKenna, retired US Forest Service researcher. Jim led efforts to locate, test and breed native butternut trees that show natural tolerance to butternut canker disease. The butternut seedlings being distributed through the ONGA/PSWCD collaboration are clones of premium Ohio butternut trees planted in Wayne National Forest as part of the butternut conservation project.
