Grow Food without a Footprint: Sunshine Garden Tour
About this Event
We’ll tour CAMH's FoodShare Sunshine Garden and learn about growing food without leaving an environmental footprint. Dr. Javad Mozafari, Garden Coordinator from FoodShare, will share his knowledge about the different strategies for planting gardens that support the local ecosystem.
It is possible to grow your own food, eat well, and help save our environment!
About the Sunshine Garden: The Foodshare Sunshine Garden is Canada’s first ever market garden on hospital grounds and also operates as a recreational gardening program for patients. Each year, CAMH in-patients and out-patients enjoy the therapeutic returns of nurturing the garden, while getting fresh air and growing food for the weekly Sunshine Garden Market during the Summer months.
This workshop is hosted in collaboration with FoodShare Toronto and is made possible thanks to donor funds through CAMH Gifts of Light.
We will meet in the Patient and Family Learning Space and walk over to the Sunshine Gardens together. Directions to the PFLS
You can also meet us at the Sunshine Garden if you know the way!
