This workshop will cover how to plan group work, form groups, monitor student progress in groups, and how to effectively assess group work.

Open to all staff members (incl. HPLs and partners)


Duration: 2 hours

Frequency: 4 times a year

In this workshop, we will explore how to effectively engage students through group work, including how to plan group work, form groups, monitor student progress in groups, and how to effectively assess group work. We will introduce you to some online tools to enhance collaboration between students, such as wikis and cloud computing.


Learning outcomes:

At the end of the session, you should be able to:

  1. Plan a group work activity within your context;
  2. Select the most method for assessing group work in your teaching context
  3. Identify challenges faced by students engaging in group work and employ strategies to mitigate these, including developing students' skills for effective group work
