For an upcoming article on this amazing and historic community of black women artists in Kansas City, photographer Jim Barcus will be creating a group photograph.
In addition to photographing for KC Studio, Mr. Barcus has photographed for Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, USA Today and The New York Times. He is a KCAI alumnus and former staff photographer for the Kansas City Star.
If you are a black woman artist in Kansas City and want to be in the photograph, come to the American Jazz Museum at 10:00 a.m. on August 16, 2025.
The photographs may be taken inside or outside. Weather will not be a problem.
