About this Event
July 9 - 30
Thursdays at 7 pm
You are warmly invited to join our upcoming Group Lectio Divina gatherings. Come as you are—whether you are new to this practice or have journeyed with it before. Together, we will set aside time to listen, reflect, and rest in God’s presence, discovering afresh the sacred word spoken to each heart. All are welcome.
What is “Lectio Divina”
Lectio Divina—literally “divine reading”—is an invitation to encounter the sacred. In this ancient spiritual practice, we approach Scripture as a living wellspring, pausing over each word and phrase as if receiving a personal message from God. With each slow, attentive reading, we open our hearts to the gentle presence of Jesus, allowing His love to permeate the ordinary rhythms of our lives.
Born from the silence of monastic tradition, Lectio Divina is both a solitary pilgrimage and a communal gathering. St. Benedict’s call to “listen with the ear of our hearts” echoes here, guiding us to the quiet places within, where God’s still, small voice whispers hope, comfort, and guidance beneath the clamor of daily existence. This is not study for knowledge or achievement, but a sacred dwelling—a tender, receptive waiting for the word God longs to speak uniquely to each of us, right now.
