After our initial group discussion on depression on September 10 and the valuable conversations that emerged, we are offering this topic again in recognition of the need and at the request of participants. When depression enters our lives, it doesn’t just drain energy, it often steals our sense of self. It tells us we’re failing, unlovable, or broken. Over time, we begin to live from the outside in, disconnected from our needs, our values, and the feeling of being truly at home in ourselves.
In this session, we’ll explore how depression impacts our self-worth by reinforcing negative automatic thoughts, those quiet, repetitive messages in the back of our minds that say “I’m not good enough,” “I’ll never change,” or “Something is wrong with me.” These thoughts often go unnoticed in better times, yet they shape how we see ourselves.
Using principles from cognitive therapy and mindful self-compassion, we’ll reflect on how these internal narratives are formed, how they relate to our past experiences, and how they can be gently challenged over time.
This is not a session about perfection or quick fixes. It’s about recognizing the mental habits that keep us stuck, and creating space to reconnect, with ourselves, with others, and with the possibility of being worthy, even in the midst of struggle.
This is a group reflection, with encouragement but optional sharing. Together, we will find empathetic and practical takeaways that hopefully you can bring into your daily life. Come as you are, messy, tired, guarded, open, crying, smiling, all of you are welcome.

Kine is a medical doctor, registered nurse, and cognitive behavioral therapist with lived experience of falling apart and slowly finding her way back. After years of postpartum depression and losing herself in others’ expectations, she made a radical choice: to stop performing and start living as her full neurodivergent self.
Through meditation, mindfulness, and deep inner work, she began returning home to herself. Today, she works with medication-assisted psychotherapy, combining clinical expertise with raw humanity.
