Dr. Darryll Pederson's presentation, "Groundwater's Role in Radioactive and Chemical Waste Transport" will explain which chemicals contaminate water, why these chemicals should not get into the water system, and how chemicals are transported in the groundwater aquifer. The presentation will dive into examples of water contamination throughout Nebraska's history.

Dr. Darryll Pederson has been involved in many groundwater studies in Nebraska and other places. In his professional work he has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award for contributions to the science and the Geohydrology Division of the Geological Society of America. He was also awarded the Distinguished Service Award for contributions to the science and the International Hydrology Association. He has a Ph.D in Geology, and M.S. in Chemistry and Physics. He is an Emeritus Professor UNL, 40 years.
