This workshop will guide you through an acceptance ritual (for which we ask you to bring in the items below) joined by acoustic guitar, meditation, and reflection in nature, blending yin and vinyasa-inspired yoga with sound healing and guided breath-work. Together, we will create space to embrace life just as it was and as it is.
Saturday, September 27th
Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Location: Our workshop will take place at Nanihoku, our mentor Chanel Vanzant Garrand’s family residence of ten-acres in Dover, Florida. Enjoy rocked nature trails and peaceful communing areas to sit and be with Spirit. We will enjoy time outside for our event. Located just a half hour outside of Downtown Tampa and five-minutes from Dinosaur World, you’ll be surrounded by tropical forest in their lush safe haven. Free of artificial noise and light pollution, you’re invited to detoxify and unplug with us and the abundance of other plant and animal species on their property.
Please bring three photos or meaningful items representing yourself at three stages of life (for example: childhood, teenage years, adulthood). We will use them to create a safe space to honor yourself, and you will take your items back with you.
Know your teachers:
Jana Rentz began her yoga practice in 2007 to take a break from traditional “gym workouts,” & to help counteract the common body breakdowns from being a long distance runner. She was inspired to become an instructor after seeing the significant benefits from her own practice, both physically and mentally. She has her RYT 200 certification. Jana’s classes are fast-paced, strong, and playful. She brings in ancient teachings of yoga and modernizes them for current day translation focusing on health, beauty and wellness.
Rhonda has been practicing yoga for 20 years, initially as a natural way for her to manage depression and anxiety. As someone who does not identify as “athletic,” Rhonda found it easy to implement yoga into her movement routine. She knew in 2007 that she wanted to teach, and in 2019 she completed her 200 hour YTT with Kodawari. In 2020, Rhonda completed additional training specific to restorative and gentle yoga, and she completed Kodawari’s 300 hour YTT in 2021. She is also Level 1 Reiki-certified. Rhonda’s passion is restorative yoga with an emphasis on mindfulness. Rhonda believes through yoga, one can find a better connection to and relationship with self. In Rhonda’s classes, expect to be nurtured, cared for, and encouraged to dig deeper.
Arianna’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of yoga and meeting life just as it is. Arianna is a full time studio manager at Bella Prāṇa Collective and graduated with a 200 RYT certification in the same studio. Arianna dived deep into the realms of specialized yoga, certified to teach Yoga for Seniors and Yin Yoga with focus on trauma-informed language and practices. Through the gentle rhythm of her breath, she discovered a sanctuary within herself, a place where the chaos of the mind could be stilled, and the light of awareness could shine through. Now, as a teacher, she invites her students to enter the present moment using the most elegant yet simple tool, their breath, and to embrace acceptance. Arianna is a pillar of love and support for her family. As a devoted mother to her two daughters and her beloved pets, she holds space for them with the same compassion and grace that she brings to her yoga practice.
